The installation consists of several cotton panels, hung up like fabrics in dyeing factories to dry.On these untreated cotton panels, a video projection displays a river in the new trend color. The textile industry consumes vast amounts of water and heavily impacts the environment. Water pollution is a significant challenge, especially in textile finishing. Toxic tannery sludge and dyeing residues from the textile industry often enter rivers unfiltered, so that the new trend color of the coming season can already be seen in the color of the rivers. The consequence: millions of people lack clean drinking water and are marked by illness. For years, slogans like "Cheap is great" and "Fast Fashion" have dictated our buying behavior. Collections change rapidly and entice us with low prices. What contribution is each individual willing to make?
